A six storey collapsed over a home in Ruaka on Thursday morning. Reports indicated that the building collapsed over a home whose occupants were asleep.
Rescuers rushed to the seen in a bid to remove the rubble and rescue the trapped family. By 9am, one person had been confirmed dead.
“This morning, a building under construction has collapsed at Ruaka area. Rescue operations by a combined team from the national and county government is underway,” Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi.
The collapsed building went down barely two days after another storey building collapsed in Kasarani and killed three people.
