The zeal in her speech tells how determined she is in the hospitality sector.
Having been brought up by strict parents who believed hard work is the only key that unlocks the door to all life has to offer, Ruth Eshikhaty had no choice but to put her name on the pedestal for entrepreneurship.
Speaking to Bizna, the founder of Randy& Andy Events, a leading catering industry in Nairobi, revealed the seed for entrepreneurship was ingrained in her at an early age thanks to her parents who taught her resilience.
”My parents taught me resilience and to be a go-getter in everything; they also taught me to be bold enough and face the world with courage. Though not present at the moment I thank them,’’ she says.
Guided by her passion, the bold businesswoman pursued a certificate in food and beverage at a career training center before proceeding to Utalii College for her diploma.
With skills and determination to succeed, Ruth decided to dip her nets into the waters of entrepreneurship, a decision that has since proved to be worthwhile.
She started her business, Randy& Andy Events &Catering, which has grown to become a leading catering company in Nairobi.
Through the company, Ruth offers top-notch catering services for various events, including private dinners, cocktail events, baby showers, bridal parties, milestone birthdays, holiday parties, casual office parties, game nights, and engagement parties, among others.

”Randy & Andy will ensure that we deliver professional corporate catering that meets our client’s expectations every time. Our drop-off Catering service comes complete with disposable plates, serving utensils, eating utensils, and serviettes,’’ she adds.
Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Ruth had worked with various hospitality companies in the country, honing her skills in the sector.
Among the companies she has worked with are Kenya Wildlife Catering Unit, International Research Institute Catering Unit, and Esgray Group, a leading hospitality, wellness, and fitness Company.
The businesswoman credits her success to focusing on perfection rather than making money, a path she says has earned her a strong customer base, driving her business to profitability.
”My experience was okay when I was starting since I had great passion. You know, when you love something, you will give it your all and do it to your perfection, so initially I focused on perfection, not money, and that really made it easy,’’ she says.
Ruth, who also has experience in administration, logistics, coordination, events organization, and décor, advises anyone intending to venture into entrepreneurship to start small with their main focus being on customer satisfaction.
”Just start and do not put profits first, you will close business, just focus on solving the need whichever field you are into and the rest will follow,’’ she advises.
In the next five years, she projects to serve staff meals in various companies across the country as well as open branches in Nakuru, Eldoret, and Kisumu.
