Ruto wins in Karua and Uhuru’s polling stations

Early result projections show that Dr. William Ruto who is the presidential candidate for the UDA party won in the polling stations where Martha Karua and President Uhuru Kenyatta cast their votes.

Results from form 34A posted by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) showed that at the Mugumo Primary School in Gichugu Constituency where she voted, Ruto garnered 911 votes against Raila Odinga’s 311 votes.

Projections also showed that Ruto had received more than half of all votes that were cast at Mutomo in Gatundu South, where President Uhuru cast his votes.

A total of 983 ballots were cast in favour of Ruto while Odinga got 464 votes. The polling station has a total of 2,164 registered voters and only 1,460 turned up to vote.

Three of the votes cast were rejected. Agano presidential candidate Waihiga Mwaure garnered four votes at the polling station and his Roots party counterpart George Wajackoya garnered nine.
