President William Ruto has swapped his nominees for cabinet secretaries.

In the new list, the embattled president has swapped Aden Duale from the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of Environment.

At the same time, the president has shifted his Environment nominee Soipan Tuya to the Ministry if Defense.

These changes were contained in a communication sent to the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula and were revealed when Wetang’ula read out the kist of eleven CS nominees.

The eleven nominees’ names have been referred to Committee on Appointments, which is expected to vet and table a report of the nominees within 28 days.

Reacting to the news, Duale said; “I am Grateful to the president for reassigning me from the Defence Ministry to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry. I look forward to serving in my new portfolio and ensuring focus is on sustainable environmental management, combating climate change, and promoting reforestation and conservation efforts.”
