While some Saccos have been hailed for good services, others have a bad reputation that has seen customers shun them.  From noise pollution and customer harassment to careless driving, many commuters have narrated several bad experiences in some matatus.

“Maybe a conductor has overcharged, been rude to a customer, ferried excess passengers, or when a driver has been found overlapping, driving under the influence, etc, we take action against all that. We believe in giving the best customer service,” he stated.

The Sacco charges between Sh 60 and Sh100 from CBD to its various routes, including Thika, Kinoo, Malaa, and Ngong, among others, with respect to the time of the day.

Zuri

This has become the best choice for commuters plying Roysambu, Zimmerman, Kahawa West, and Githurai 44. Many customers prefer Zuri due to its cleanliness, soothing music, and disciplined conductors.

Nairobi residents plying the route pay a fare of between Sh 60- Sh80 depending on the traffic and market demand. Its good service delivery has been reinforced by its eight directors who manage the Sacco.

This has also become a favorite Sacco for commuters Plying Thika road, with long queues witnessed in Nairobi CBD.

The Sacco offers both the express route for the customers seeking to arrive in Nairobi on time while also consisting of some matatus that drop and pick passengers along designated stages along Thika road.

The Sacco charges Sh 100 from Nairobi to Thika in both normal hours and Peak hours. Manchester Travelers is owned by Joseph Omwega Otungo, who also serves as its chairman.

Lopha

Despite a deteriorating reputation, Lopha is still a preferred commute choice among commuters. It plies the Thika Road and Waiyaki Way routes. Lopha charges Sh 70 from Nairobi CBD to Thika Makongeni.

Embassava

Embassava is the most popular Sacco among commuters plying route 33/34 that includes Embakasi, Savannah, Utawala, Tena, Muthurwa, Jogoo Road as well as Mombasa Road.

While many customers have complained about its services, it has still expressed superiority within the market. Embassava charges between Sh 50 and 100 from Nairobi CBD to its route, depending on the time.

Metro Trans

Like Super Metro, Metro Trans has been hailed for good services and professionalism. Metro Trans has been in operation since 2011 and operates on various routes within Nairobi, including Nairobi – Utawala, Kabiria,  Kawangware, and Kasarani.
