Safaricom youth orchestra holds a special concert for oncology and pediatric patients

The Safaricom Youth Orchestra and the Safaricom Choir on the 9th of July 2017 held a special concert for the children in the oncology and pediatric wards at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

The Safaricom Youth Orchestra was formed in 2014 with the aim to provide quality orchestral musical instruction to Kenyan school aged children aged 10-17 years.

The children are drawn from different backgrounds. The Orchestra provides the youth with an opportunity to be nurtured and guided by some of Kenya’s finest musicians and music directors.

The students come together once a week for rehearsals to obtain skills necessary to become Kenya’s next generation of professional musicians.
