As Santo and Venus Kyengo celebrated their 20 years of marriage this February, they opened up on how they fell in love at first sight while working at Kenya Airways 20 years ago.
“We met on my first day at Kenya Airways. I was reporting for work and the very first time I set my eyes on him was in the canteen, he was buying something and I was like wow, I liked what I saw,” said Venus.
On his part, Santo recalled how beautiful and stunning Venus was. “When I saw her she was stunning in terms of looks, the way she was dressed, the way she carried herself. I judged her based on my fear so when she said hi to me that fear evaporated and realized she was just a normal human,” he said.
Santo and Venus Kyengo narrated how after falling in love, they went on to build successful careers in the aviation industry as well as businesses.
Interestingly, despite fully knowing that they were in love with each other, Santo and Venus were careful to guard their feelings and gauge whether what they felt for each other would last. This saw them start a friendship that lasted for three years before they finally decided to get married. “We were friends for three years then got married,” Santo said.
