A 5-storey Kiambu building has collapsed. The building collapsed hours after tenants evacuated after spotting cracks.
The evacuation was overseen by Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi whose county has recorded two other building collapses.
“Tenants can no longer stay in this house because its columns- which are supposed to support it have cracked. It cannot stand for long. If not for the neighbouring house that is supporting it, it could already be down,” Wamatangi had said.

The building that was located in Ruiru town is reported to have been home to about 100 tenants.
