How unemployed Bcom graduate with 4 flashy cars was abducted at gaming joint

At the young age of 23, Victor Kibet was living large. He seemingly was the embodiment of the ‘Kenyan dream’ many youth and millennials aspire to achieve.

Yet the most surprising aspect of his story was the unknown source of his wealth that has sparked discussions on social media.

The Bachelor of Commerce graduate from JKUAT had no known job, yet he consistently flaunted top-of-the-range vehicles. Kibet proudly owns a 2023 Mercedes GLC 250 4 Matic, valued at over Sh. 8.3 million (excluding taxes).

In addition, Kibet owned other vehicles including an Audi Q7, a Subaru Forester which he reportedly favoured for weekend drives, and a Toyota Mark X, which was said to have been sold and repurchased.

The daunting aspect in Kibet’s life narrative to this point was how his father, Mr Paul Mutai, seemed to have a shady view of his son’s business in the city. He believed that his son was an experienced entrepreneur whose skills enabled him to accumulate a huge amount of wealth over a short period.

“My son told me he had started a business with other friends, but never told me which one,” his father told Nation Africa.

“We used to support each other financially. Sadly, he is missing and I am on my way to Nairobi from Narok to find out what has happened,” Kibet’s father added, noting that Victor and he were in the process of building a luxurious mansion in their rural home.

Allegedly, Victor Kibet is said to have been enjoying a game of pool at an entertainment joint before he was carried away by men claiming to be police officers. He was bundled into a waiting Subaru, which rushed away from the scene closely tailed behind by a double cab.

Since then, the whereabouts of Victor Kibet remain unknown as the police continue to intensify their search for the 23-year-old tycoon. He was described as a peaceful young man who held no qualms with anyone.

He also enjoyed showcasing his wealth to the public on TikTok, sharing video snippets of his flashy lifestyle and driving pristine vehicles. His father described him as a “very generous” young man whose “life was starting to take shape” until his abduction.

He went on to plead with anyone who may have information about Victor’s abduction to come forward and assist the authorities with their investigations.

“I have not slept since I was informed that he was missing and I pray that wherever he is, he is safe,” Mr Mutai shared.
