Legendary Vioja Mahakamani Prosecutor Gibson Gathu has died. He died after a long battle with kidney disease that saw him undergo a kidney transplant four months ago.
He had undergone his kidney transplant at Mediheal Hospital in Eldoret.
“I have been in hospital since July 18, 2022, and I was discharged on August 3, 2022. I feel so good. I am full of energy. I think dialysis had taken a toll on me. Now I am slowly going back to my usual self. God is so good,” he had said.
His death was announced by his son who said that the celebrated actor had developed complications in September, a month after the kidney transplant.
The actor had also battled diabetes for over 20 years. In July 2022, he had pleased with Kenyans to help him raise money for his kidney transplant.

Kenyans heard his cry and came out to help, with former president Uhuru Kenyatta giving a personal donation of Sh. 2 million.
Gathu had said that she would return to acting once he fully recovered, since acting was what gave him his daily bread.
