In Kenya, over 300,000 graduates join the job market each year, this number being higher than the available job opportunities in the country, the unemployment rate has risen to reach alarming rates. This has resulted in over 60% of Kenya youths to choose to start their own companies instead of searching for white collar jobs.

The Kenyan government is hence striving to nurture and encourage young entrepreneurs in the country through financial and other forms of aids.

Promoting entrepreneurial culture among the Kenyan youth through activities like the organization of an exposure trips to various countries is very important, not only in improving the livelihood of these entrepreneurs but in also boosting the country’s economy.

It is for this reason that we, the Bizna team, would like to share the following good news with all start-up entrepreneurs throughout the country:

 Bizna Kenya is partnering with The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce (AHK Kenya) in cooperation with the Tech Entrepreneurship Initiative “Make-IT in Africa“ (GIZ), in inviting Kenyan founders and entrepreneurs of Small and Growing Businesses and Startups to a 7-day guided tour to Germany’s startup hotspots in Berlin, Hamburg and the Ruhr area.

As the name suggests, the aim of this exposure journey is to provide the selected startup entrepreneurs an opportunity to display their venture and products internationally and get a grasp of current developments in the market, have a glimpse at the German startup scene and above all have the chance to meet potential customers and investors.

The exposure trip will begin on 14th October, 2017 and end on 21st October, 2017. Startup Entrepreneurs who want to participate should be active in any of the following fields:-

• Energy/Energy solutions
• Internet of things/ Industry 4.0
• Logistics/Transport
