Former NTV news anchor Winnie Mukami dies in Nairobi

Winnie Mukami Dies: Former news presenter at Nation media Group’s NTV Winnie Mukami is dead.

Reports say that Mukami died while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital. It is said that she had contracted the Covid-19 disease.

“Just got the news that we have lost another media colleague, former NTV news anchor Winnie Mukami. Condolences to her family and friends as she rests,” Radio Africa Group Editor Oliver Mathenge said.

Ms. Mukami became a household name in 2003 when she anchored afternoon and evening news at NTV News. She had joined NTV from the national broadcaster KBC where she started her career.  At KBC, she had worked as a TV and radio current affairs presenter and producer for two years.

In 2010, Ms. Mukami left NTV and ventured into entrepreneurship. She founded her own public relations consultancy known as Winners Frontiers International Limited.

“Having worked in the Broadcast Industry for over eight years, I bring valuable experience acquired from the industry to our various Clients at Winners Frontiers,” she said in her profile.

In 2018, Ms. Mukami was appointed to the Kenya Pipeline Board for a period of three years.
