1. Politics.
Politicians are superstars in Kenya. A while back, I wrote an article on why Kenyan politicians are so rich. There is no politician who doesn’t own fancy cars or luxury homes. Politics is lucrative because people in this career make plenty of money outside the basic pay while people in other careers are mostly confined to their salary.
2. Marketing.
The field can be really tough for beginners. However, once you are an established marketer, you end up making a fortune out of your career. Most of the people who have been in this profession for a few years are millionaires. Earning commissions is the best part about being a marketer. The harder you work, the more money you get. In other careers, yo might work hard but never get that promotion, let’s say if your boss doesn’t like you. But if you are a marketer, you are sure that if you put in the work, your effort will pay off.
3. NGOs and civil society jobs.
Non-governmental organizations offer some of the most lucrative salaries in the job market. This is because these institutions operate on huge budgets that often come from donor funding. Employees tend to enjoy six-figure salaries, some even millions. It’s important to note that Law and Social Sciences graduates are the most sought after by NGOs.
4. Entertainers.
In Kenya, entertainers make a killing for shows and endorsing brands. The more fans you have, the better. Sometimes you don’t even need too many fans. You just need to right promoters and other individuals that make things happen in the entertainment industry. This way, you never miss out on the biggest gigs or corporate deals.
5. Engineering.
Civil and structural engineers are the best placed due to the numerous road and construction projects in the country. The bigger the firm you are affiliated with, the higher you will earn.
