List of guests who contributed nearly Sh. 1 billion at Raila dinner

Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga has successfully held a Sh. 1 million per plate dinner. The dinner that was held in Nairobi attracted top billionaires, some of who contributed up to Sh. 10 million each.

The dinner that was held at the Safari Park Hotel started at about 6pm and ended at 11pm. It attracted about 500 guests who were booked under both the corporate and individual categories.

Those who attended the Raila dinner paid up to Sh. 10 million for 10 guests under the corporate category, Sh. 5 million for five guests under the premier category and Sh. 2 million for three guests under the platinum category.

Under the gold category, guests paid Sh. 1 million for two guests and Sh. 500,000 for a single guest under the silver category.

The Raila dinner is reported to have garnered over half a billion shillings from the attendees.

Some of those who attended the event included Mt. Kenya Foundation chairperson Peter Munga, Royal Media Services owner S.K Macharia, former Commissioner General of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) John Njiraini.

Centum Investment chief executive officer James Mworia, chairman of the Nairobi Securities Exchange Kiprono Kittony, businessman Sam Wakiaga.

Two universities in Germany Raila attended and courses they offered

Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu, Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga, Kisii Governor James Ongwae, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, Azimio executive director Raphael Tuju, former Cabinet minister Fred Gumo.

Senior counsel Prof Tom Ojienda, lawyer Jackson Awele and anti-graft crusader John Githongo.

The fundraising was fashioned to replicate the 2017 dinner that was arranged in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection. This dinner raised Sh. 1 billion within a couple of hours.
