Rongai MP election postponed. See list of all postponed elections

Residents of Rongai Constituency will not be voting in for their new Member of Parliament. This is after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission announced the postponement of the exercise.

The postponement came after a mix up in ballot papers with ballot papers from Kuresoi South. However, voting in other categories including the Presidency, Gubernatorial, senatorial, Woman Rep and Member of County Assembly.

Rongai joined Kakamega and Mombasa where voting will also not take place for the position of Governor. According to Chebukati, the suspension follows a mix up of ballot papers.

Chebukati said that new poll dates for these positions will be announced through a gazette notice at a later date.

Other affected areas where suspension has been declared include Pokot South and Kacheliba constituency elections.

“Ballot papers for Mombasa governor position have wrong gubernatorial candidates’ pictures and their images printed on them,” Chebukati said.

“Ballot papers for Kacheliba constituency have wrong member of National Assembly candidates’ pictures and their images printed on them.”
