Ezekiel Mutua helps Stevo Simple Boy land MCSK job; Stevo to also get NACADA job

A jolly Stivo Simple Boy can now look forward to working in an ambassadorial capacity for two government agencies. This is after word came out a few weeks back that the musician was struggling financially.

Help is bombarding the Kibera-bred rapper with MP Peter Salasya and MCSK boss Ezekiel Mutua leading the frontlines. The revelations of his struggle seemingly became a blessing in disguise.

Ezekiel Mutua has always been a fan of the musician. When he caught a whiff of the news, the MCSK boss expressed his willingness to help the rapper.

Co-Op post

“Stivo is a talented young man, I remember I heard of him when I was still at the Kenya Film Classification Board and I started liking him then,” he recalled, adding that he first heard of him through his viral hit song ‘Mihadarati’.

He even sent his personal assistant to fetch him but as they say, God’s time is the best.

Under the prevailing economic circumstances, Mutua asserted that many musicians have not found their bearings yet.

In a meeting with Simple Boy, Ezekiel Mutua ensured that he was registered with MCSK so that in future he can start earning royalties from his music.

Furthermore, Stivo is set to become a youth ambassador at the MCSK.

“We’ve agreed that we pursue an agreement where he becomes an ambassador for the youth at MCSK…” Mutua confirmed.

Mutua also added that he was in the process of securing a deal with NACADA for a youth ambassadorial role. Stivo will become the face of combating the drug abuse menace that has plagued Kenyan youth.

“I’ve called NACADA and already started arrangements to have a meeting with them because he has said he wants to become an ambassador for the campaign against drug abuse as you’re aware, this is a big menace, a national disaster,” Mutua continued.

Ezekiel Mutua maintained that MCSK had mainstreamed royalty payments and the body was dedicated to seeing creatives earn handsomely from their work. Simple Boy’s ‘Mihadarati’ churned 5 years ago and has over 1 million views and still counting.

Recently, MP Peter Salasya gifted him a fully furnished 1-bedroom apartment and promised to pay Stivo’s rent for 3 months. The legislator will also sponsor his wife for a short course in beauty therapy.

He intends to open a boutique for the pair so that they can bring order to their lives and have multiple streams of income.
