Why KMTC intake portal for September is yet to be opened

Students looking to join the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) have been checking are frustrated that the KMTC intake portal for September is yet to be opened.

On an ordinary year, the KMTC intake portal opens months before the actual intake month. For instance, by now, successful candidates would have already received their admission letters for the September intake that is about one and a half months away.

However, this year, the portal is yet to be availed for students to make their submissions.

According to KMTC chief executive officer Dr. Kelly Olouch, the delay has been necessitated as the foremost medical college in the country moves to enhance transparency amd efficiency.

“To improve the efficiency of our admission process, we have received and are implementing the valuable feedback from stakeholders. Further, we have partnered with like-minded organisations to enhance our capacity for the selection and placement of students,” Dr. Oluoch said.

“In this regard, therefore, please note that the applications for KMTC September 2023 intake have not yet been opened. As a result, the selection and placement process has not commenced.”

Dr. Olouch said that the college would officially announce the start of the intake in the coming days publicly.

“Prospective applicants are advised to stay tuned to our official platforms and channels for further updates on the opening of the application portal. We will provide clear instructions and announce the dates in the coming days,” Dr. Oluoch said.
