Jane Kyalo, a Kenyan teacher recently shared nostalgic photos of herself during her primary school days. In the picture, Ms. Kyalo is visibly seen receiving a gift for her outstanding performance in the KCSE exams nearly 10 years ago.
The young woman topped the 2013 KCSE exams in her school, Our Lady of Assumption Tawa Girls Secondary School. Jane Kyalo was awarded the gift by Archbishop Kivuva Musonde.
“2013 – I was gifted by Arch Bishop Martin Kivuva Musonde for being one of the best students in the KCSE exams,” she wrote in a post on her X (formerly Twitter) page.
Speaking in an interview with a local media reporter, Jane Kyalo revealed that she was accompanied to the event by her uncle as her parents had to report to work.
“I cleared high school in 2013; I was a very bright student and everybody knew I was gifted in Maths. Whenever anyone had a problem, they knew they could come to me and get help,” she said.
Her uncle took pictures of her receiving the award, which were later shared with her parents who are proud of the achievements she’s accomplished.
“Looking back, it was such an amazing occasion, very heartwarming,” Jane remarked.
Today, the former altar girl is a dedicated teacher with a passion for helping her students succeed in challenging subjects such as Mathematics and Science. Students often struggle with these subjects.

She is the owner of JKF Tuition Centre, a school in Runda.
“My tuition centre targets students in Runda, Ridgeways, Garden Estate, Rosslyn, Nyari, Lavington for all your problems in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English and Literature,” she tweeted in 2022.
