Kenya Airways has been named as the leading airline in Africa in the economy class and inflight magazine.
The national carrier was named the top airline by the World Travel Awards (WTA). This was the fifth time the airline was scooping the award after taking the top position in 2011, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
This year, Kenya Airways has revamped its economy class experience by introducing tray service in economy class.
The tray service has replaced the previous box service. The carrier has also introduced an extra hot meal starter and yoghurt for breakfast on specific mid- to long-haul flights across the network.

KQ’s inflight magazine which is known as Msafiri was named the best African inflight magazine for the second year in a row.
“This award is a testament that our ‘customer–first’ strategy is bearing fruit. It is also a vote of confidence from customers in the initiatives we have implemented to improve customer experience across all touch-points,” said Allan Kilavuka who is the Kenya Airways Group Chief Executive Office.
He added that the national carrier is working towards retaking the top position in the African market by enhancing its customer experience. This position has been dominated by Ethiopian Airlines over the last couple of years.
“It is about listening to the customers and understanding their needs,” he said.
