The untold story on Samidoh’s behavior that got him kicked out of NYS

Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, is arguably the most influential Benga musician in Kenya.

The musician is a jack of all trades and boasts as a singer, a businessman, a police officer and a farmer.

Before joining the Police Service, Samidoh revealed he was serving in the National Youth Service (NYS), where he was expelled for indiscipline.

Co-Op post

During a past interview with comedian Daniel Ndambuki alias Churchill, Samidoh said he was dismissed from NYS school in GilGil, Nakuru County, for sneaking out of the institution without permission to attend an Administration Police recruitment drive.

“I jumped out of the fence to participate in an Administration Police recruitment drive in Ol Joro Orok, Nyandarua County.”

“Unfortunately, I was not selected to join and had to go back to NYS. I found out they had already noticed my disappearance, but they did not make a big deal out of it, I was just expelled,” Samidoh recalled.

He unfortunately missed out on the police recruitment drive, forcing him to return to his home in Nyandarua County, where he secured a job as a data entry clerk thanks to his computer skills.

He used the money to enrol for a business and Information Technology diploma but still wanted to join the disciplined service.

Not long before he tried his luck in the Kenya Defence Forces recruitment drive but was rejected due to his slender physical appearance.

Undeterred by the response, he tried for the second time, and after his third attempt, he was selected to join the Administration Police Service, where he has been serving until today.

Samidoh revealed his first operation in the AP was at Eastleigh, Nairobi before being posted to Mpeketoni in Lamu County.

The musician, who rose from abject poverty to become one of the biggest musical acts out of the Central region, has gone on to establish himself as one of the richest.

Besides his police job, the musician is a farmer and a businessman with multiple businesses, including rental apartments in Nairobi, a Mugithi club in Nakuru dubbed Unique Tavern, Sparkling Beachview Carwash Bar & Restaurant, and another club in Githurai 44.
