Michael Kang’ethe was arrested by detectives on Tuesday evening at a hideout in Ngong town. Following his arrested, details of how detectives made their move on him have now emerged.
According to reports, Kang’ethe was arrested at his cousin’s house in Embulbul, Ngong where he had arrived earlier on Tuesday evening.
Before his arrest, detectives were clear that he was hiding in Ngong and had narrowed their search to that area.
He had moved to Ngong after realizing that his brother and a lady friend had been arrested whom he had been in touch with had been arrested at Ololua and Westlands respectively.

On Monday, February 12, Kang’ethe had called several of his relatives using a phone that he had managed to acquire. It was not immediately clear, though, how he had acquired the phone.
He had then switched the phone off as he moved from place to place within the Nairobi metropolitan area.
However, detectives narrowed their search to Ngong area after they found out that he had made a cash withdrawal at an agent.
Reports say that when he appeared at his cousin’s house, the relative was unsure whether to accommodate or report him.
By the time detectives arrived at the home, Kang’ethe had apparently been offered supper and was chatting away with his cousin.
Reports say that he was relaxed and did not resist arrest. His cousin was also arrested for interrogation. On Wednesday morning, the Kang’ethe was produced in court where the Director of Public Prosecution sought orders that he be remanded at the Industrial Area Remand Prison.
