The first thought that comes to mind when you hear of any witchdoctor is a person with a scary aura, languishing in poverty in a matope house with their daunting tools of trade, yet claiming to have abilities to make their clients rich.
Well, this is not the case for Anne Mutheu. At first glance, you’d supposedly think she is a politician’s wife, only to find that she is a witch doctor. If anything’s to go by her properties, Mutheu lives life in the millionaire fastlane.
Anne Mutheu is a class 8 dropout from Kitwii Primary School in Kanzalu, Kangundo. In a previous interview, she narrated that she inherited the trade from her parents and is not afraid to showcase her wealth.
“Most people assume that witch doctors are poor and lead miserable lives. That is not the case. I am a woman of means and my juju business has made me rich,” she said.
Unlike many witch doctors who rely on very weird paraphernalia to get their businesses done, Mutheu turns to the Bible to serve her clients. She shared that she never misses church on Sundays.
The woman, who prefers to go by the name ‘the boss lady’ has built a majestic home where posh cars and a swimming pool dot the compound. Her house has attracted more clients.
Point to note, she clarified that a vast majority of her wealth is sourced from her businesses and not from her craft. Mutheu noted that she is the owner of several real estate properties in the country.
She has 3 lorries, 3 PSVs, 3 Personal cars, a petrol station and plots based in Nakuru, Nairobi, Mombasa, Malindi and Tala.
Good Joseph: If you want to be rich be stingy, frugal and strict
“Most witch doctors live in dirty places, which is a turnoff. I decided to do my business differently. Clients are always streaming in seeking my services. You see, if you make them feel comfortable, they will always come back,” she said.
“For example, a sofa set which is in the room where I treated my clients is worth Sh. 350,000. The room has more than one set.”
Mutheu shared that in a day, she gets up to 80 clients. She charges Sh. 1000 daily, comfortably raking her Sh. 80,000 in a day.
In a month, as per previous reports, the minimum she can make is Sh. 1.8 million. Her clients are well-enabled people such as politicians, businessmen and corporate bigwigs.
For international clients, Mutheu allegedly asks for their pictures on WhatsApp or Email. Through the photos, she’s able to tell their problems and heal them.
“My mother taught me how to trade and she also told me that I can because when I was born, the spirit of witching was inside me. I have no regrets,” Mutheu said, noting that her works have helped rid her home town of crime.
