Kenya Airways has cancelled all flights as the on-going strike by its pilots begin to bite.
The national carrier on Thursday evening announced that all flights apart from KQ 168 to Mombasa scheduled for 9pm and KQ619 from Mombasa scheduled fro 11 pm had been cancelled until 2am East African time.
Earlier in the day, KQ had announced that it was experiencing flight disruptions. By 4.35 pm when the carrier released a statement, 10 flights had already been cancelled.
The on-going strike has taken place a day after a court order banned the proposed strike by KQ pilots. The pilot have among other things been demanding for the resignation of the Kenya Airways CEO Mbuvi Ngunze, saying that he is not qualified to lift the troubled carrier from its current pit.
