Jambojet announces flight disruptions at JKIA

Jambojet has announced flight disruptions at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday morning.

In a notice on its official X account on Thursday, September 26, the airline attributed the delay to fuel supply disruption at JKIA.

While the hitch has been resolved the carrier said it will affect its services throughout the day.

“Due to a temporary disruption in fuel supply at JKIA, our morning flights are delayed. Our fuel provider has resolved the issue and we are now fueling ready for boarding. Unfortunately, this will affect our service throughout the day,” the airline said.

According to the Kenyan low-cost airline, all the flights from Mombasa have not been affected and will be operating as scheduled.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and we shall do our best to minimize the disruptions,’’ it added.

The carrier has advised passengers to check with their respective airlines for any updates regarding their flights.

Jet fuel is normally provided by various licenced companies at airport facilities. According to official data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), airlines purchased 661,100 tonnes of fuel in 2023, an 11 percent hike from the amount purchased during the previous year.

This signals a hike in air travel from local and international travelers.
