Finnish phone manufacturers Human Mobile Devices (HMD) held an event at Alta Towers in Kilimani to mark the launch of their latest mid-range smartphone in the country, the HMD Skyline.

The new product has a 6.55” P-OLED screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1080 pixels of screen resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It also has a brightness level of up to 1000nits.

This ensures that its users can maintain and repair the device on their own thus prolonging its lifespan and reducing electronic waste.

The HMD Skyline is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 CPU which offers up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of phone storage. This option is expandable up to 512GB by way of an external MicroSD card.

The phone features a 4,600mAh battery and a 33W Type-C charging port. The battery also supports 5W reverse wireless charging and 15W magnetic wireless charging. The Qi2-certified battery is believed to last up to 48 hours on a single charge while a full charge lasts 76 minutes.

HMD Skyline has innovative software features such as a digital detox mode which limits access to social media and notifications, giving users more time to live in the moment away from devices without distraction.
