The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the hiring of 20,000 junior secondary school teachers on internship basis for a period of 12 months.
In the announcement on Tuesday, October 29, TSC said the teachers will be deployed to help in implementation of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) and will teach at Regular Schools.
Interested candidates were advised to apply through the TSC website by not later than November 4 midnight.
“The Commission’s guideline for the recruitment of intern teachers for the financial year 2024/2025 shall apply.” TSC stated.
To qualify, TSC said that candidates must meet some various requirements including being Kenyan citizens with a minimum grade of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and on the two teaching subjects.

In addition, interested candidates must be registered with the TSC and must have no teaching record with the commission or any disciplinary issues.
“Qualified and trained teachers with Technical Learning Areas/Subjects with TSC Registration Numbers are highly encouraged to apply.” TSC added.
successful applicants will be allowed to teach in any of the schools in the areas they have applied from or any other part of the country that a vacancy exists.
The commission clarified that it will only accept online applications, and that manual applications will not be accepted.
Documents required for the job application include copies of TSC Certificate, national identity card, National Council for Persons with disability card for the differently abled applicants, KRA PIN and two passport size photos.
Successful applicants will get Sh20,000 monthly compensation which will be subject to any government deductions.
