Vincent Wangara, going by his brand name Vinn Clizz is not your ordinary fashionpreneur. The 26-year old entrepreneur have managed to beat all odds to become one of the dominators of the fashion industry in Kenya.

He shares his success story during an interview with Bizna Kenya:
His company, Vinn Clizz limited specializes in custom-made gents and ladies suits. The outlet shop for Vinn Clizz suits is located at Garden City Mall along Thika Road. “I started Vinn Clizz Ltd in 2013 but the business came to pick up in 2014 with the help of guys like Rick Maina who helped in publicizing my brand.”
Vinn Clizz suits are uniquely designed to meet customers’ expectations. “My suits are uniquely designed with an extra touch, this has made many clients to prefer buying from Vinn Clizz ltd since their demands are met and they are offered the best customer service.”
The company also deals in custom-made branded male and female undergarments which are tailored from scratch and made from pure cotton.
When I asked of the challenges he faces in his entrepreneurial journey; “There are many challenges which I have faced since I started the company. One being default payment from customers. Another challenge is tailoring suits ordered by customers who are far from Nairobi, and it unfortunately turns out that the measurements they gave me was incorrect thus making the already tailored suits not to fit them perfectly. You see, if a customer came to my shop and I could personally take the measurements, such a problem couldn’t be in existence.”
“I however plan to open branches of Vinn Clizz Ltd in various parts of the country to avail my products to all Kenyans. In the meantime, I encourage clients to notify me of their location so that I can personally go there to take the measurements or send someone. This is more preferable that sending me the measurements which might be inaccurate.”
To market his brand and products, he uses social media, referrals and Events.
“Being a fashionpreneur and owner of Vinn Clizz Ltd, I have managed to be invited and attended various fashion shows and events within and outside the country e.g. the Kigali Fashion week in Rwanda. If all goes well I will be attending the Paris Fashion Week in France later this year. My suits costs between 7,500ksh – 30,000ksh depending on the fabric.”
Vincent advises young entrepreneurs to always pay attention to every detail in the products which they sell. Also they should always learn how to approach and interact with new clients. “As an entrepreneur, avoid being desperate to a level of underpricing your products. Instead set a higher standard and sell only best quality goods and services.”
Being a successful entrepreneur in Kenya requires a lot of hard work, sacrifice and dedication. That is how entrepreneurs like Vinn Clizz have managed to build emperors for themselves.
