Kenya Power will shut down its prepaid token-buying system on Wednesday from 10 pm to 6 am on Thursday for maintenance.
In a statement on Monday, the company said the second shutdown will occur Friday at 6 am.
“During this two periods of shut down, our customers on the prepaid system will not be able to vend for electricity token,” KPLC said in a statement on Monday.
The company said the maintenance is necessary to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery to customers.
Last week the company also shut down the system to facilitate the implementation of the new electricity tariffs.
This was after the Energy regulatory Authority reduced power tariffs for domestic and small commercial consumers by Sh2 and Sh5 respectively.
