Magufuli Nairobi Hospital: Unconfirmed reports say that Tanzania president John Pombe Magufuli is admitted at the Nairobi Hospital with breathing difficulties.
The reports started circulating on Tuesday evening after Tanzania leader of opposition Tundu Lissu raised concerns over the president’s whereabouts and health status. “The president’s well-being is a matter of grave public concern. We’re informed when Kikwete had prostate surgery. We’re told when Mkapa went for hip replacement. We’re not kept in the dark when Mwalimu fought leukemia. What’s it with Magufuli that we don’t deserve to know?” Mr. Lissu said. Lissu’s remark came after FichuaTanzania, a human rights group, reported that Magufuli traveled to neighboring Kenya to receive treatment at a hospital in the capital, Nairobi.

A related report that was published in the Daily Nation on Wednesday said that an African leader whose country has been at the forefront of rejecting the existence of the Covid-19 disease has been admitted at the Nairobi Hospital with the disease. In Africa, it is Tanzania’s Pombe Magufuli who has been denying the presence of the coronavirus in his country.
Magufuli, 61, has ruled the East African nation since November 2015. He was last seen in public on Feb. 24 during a tour of the commercial hub, Dar es Salaam.
