Absa Bank Kenya and Visa extend partnership to unveil Kenya's first Infinite Card in metal form

Absa Bank Kenya, in partnership with Visa, a global leader in digital payments, has introduced an exclusive Infinite Card, becoming the first bank in Kenya to launch the card in a metal design. This innovation redefines the banking experience for the affluent.

The exclusive card blends functionality and sophistication to offer an elevated cardholder experience. Some of the benefits include unlimited access to over 1,200 airport lounges and 900 hotels worldwide, as well as 24-hour concierge services.

In addition, the card offers comprehensive travel insurance with a tripled coverage limit of $2.5 million (approximately KES 322.5 million), providing peace of mind for travellers. It also enhances buyer protection, doubling the limit from $10,000 to $20,000 (approximately KES 1.3 million to KES 2.6 million), and guarantees 1.5% rewards on both local and international purchases.

Speaking at the launch of the card, Absa Bank Kenya Managing Director Abdi Mohamed reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to curating solutions tailored for every customer segment.

The metallic card differs from the plastic cards currently on the market, giving it a longer shelf life. The introduction of the new card is a step in achieving the Bank’s goal of becoming net zero by 2050. Furthermore, 0.05% of every on-flight ticket purchase made using the card goes toward supporting tree planting efforts.

Visa East Africa Vice President and General Manager, Chad Pollock highlighted that the card aims to exceed the expectations of its cardholders by providing unique privileges and global acceptance.
