Achraf Hakimi’s alleged divorce story has been causing quite a stir on the internet, baffling fans of the Moroccan football star.

Despite playing for one of the wealthiest football clubs in the world, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and being part of the best African team in the recently ended World Cup edition, recent revelations claim he owns “nothing”.

This has raised questions about the lavish lifestyles of professional footballers and the true value of their possessions. How can a footballer earning millions of euros in salary and endorsements own nothing?

Although Achraf Hakimi has made a fortune from his football career, he raised some eyebrows when his wife, Hiba Abouk, filed for divorce and requested more than half of his property and money.

However, to her surprise, Hakimi appeared to have very little wealth under his name, as all of it was registered under his mother’s, Saida Mouth, name.

The authenticity of these findings that have since spread widely on social media could not be independently verified by Bizna Kenya.

Hakimi’s mother seems to be the one in control of his finances, as everything he needed, he had to go through her.

The courtroom was full of drama when it was revealed that all of his assets, such as houses, cars, clothes collection, and jewellery, were registered under Saida Mouth (Mother). In addition, most of the millions he earns each month are deposited into an account with her name on it.

Reportedly, over 80% of Hakimi’s amassed wealth is believed to be registered under her name. Hakimi and his wife began dating in 2018, tied the knot in 2020, and now have two sons together.

Achraf Hakimi’s relationship had already deteriorated before the rape case allegations emerged in February. However, these allegations proved to be the final nail in the coffin of his marriage.

Hakimi’s decision to register his wealth under his mother’s name has become a subject of debate around the world. Some people praised him for being clever and for protecting his assets, while others criticized him and his mother for hiding his wealth.
