DPP drops Sh. 19 million Aisha Jumwa corruption case

The Director of Public Prosecution has dropped a Sh. 19 million corruption case Aisha Jumwa has been facing.

Jumwa had been charged in court with two cases, including one murder case. In the corruption matter, she was accused of allegedly embezzlement CDF funds.

Jumwa and seven others were accused of conspiracy to commit fraud through payment of Sh. 19 million to Multiserve contractors in respect to tender number MLD/NG-CDF/01/2017/2018 of Malindi NG-CDF.

Jumwa’s offence was alleged to have been committed between May 14 and October 12, 2018 in Malindi sub-county, Kilifi County. Jumwa was also charged with conflict of interest, acquisition of proceeds of crime and money laundering.

Jumwa was charged alongside Wachu Omar, Kennedy Otieno, Bernard Riba, Sophia Saidi, Margaret Kalume, Robert Katana and Multiserve contractors.

The DPP withdrew the case under Section 87 (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC).

Jumwa is the cabinet secretary nominee for Public Service and Gender Cabinet.
