Popular singer Akothee has revealed how she has been saving millions since the coronavirus pandemic hit Kenya. The singer made these revelations during an Instagram live session with movie star Lupita Nyong’o.
Akothee said that since the pandemic, her bills had reduced significantly because she has been spending time in the house.
“I was just all over the place for nothing and my bills reduced from Sh. 3.5 million a month to Sh. 1.5 million, Covid really toned me down,” she said. “I really grew. I got time to bond with my kids apart from the one living in France because of the lockdown. I realised I didn’t need a lot of people around me. Before, I would walk around with not less than 10 people because I have no freedom. After Covid, I actually found out I can stay in my house for a whole month, and it gave me the opportunity to even think much more. I identified the kind of a person I am. I worked on my emotions and developed quite a lot.”
In 2018, the singer revealed that she spends up to Sh. 2 million per month to maintain her lifestyle. The singer, in a lengthy post, said that her houses look good because she spends sleepless nights making it look good.
“They look good because someone is having sleepless nights to maintain them, I spend over 2 million a month to make sure everything is in perfect condition for this homes,” she posted.
She added that if her workers do not steal too much from her, she spends up spending Sh. 1.5 million. Akothee has one of the most luxurious houses owned by any Kenyan celebrity artist.
