State to auction 109 vehicles at lows of Sh. 5,000. See how to bid

The government has auctioned the auctioning of 109 vehicles. The vehicles will be sold from as low as Sh. 5,000  at Water Works Development Agencies in Mombasa, Nyeri, Nakuru and Kakamega Counties.

“The Ministry in conjunction with the appointed registered auctioneer Ms. Petfriend auctioneers wishes to inform the general public of the intended sale of the underlisted items on “as -is- where- is” basis on the following dates and venue,” the Ministry of Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation announced in a notice dated January 24, 2023.

“The reserve price of the vehicles ranges from Sh. 2,000 to Sh. 150,000.”

25 vehicles will be auctioned at Tana Water Works Development Agency on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, with reserve prices ranging from Sh. 120,000 to Sh. 200,000.

A total of 28 vehicles will be auctioned at Coast Water Works Development Agency offices on Friday, February 17, 2023 in Mombasa.

The auction in Nakuru will take place at Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency on Friday, February 10, 2023, with a total of 28 vehicles being auctioned. The reserve price ranges from Sh. 2,000 to Sh. 1.5 million.

35 vehicles will be auctioned in Kakamega with reserve prices ranging from Sh. 5,000 to Sh. 1.5 million. This auction will take place at Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency on Monday, February 13, 2023.

How to bid for the vehicles

The notices said that a DVD containing detailed information on the auction is available at the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation room 118 upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Sh. 1,000.

Once they pay for the DVD, all interested bidders will then obtain a bidding number from the auctioneer. They are advised to view the motor vehicles at various stations as indicated in the DVD catalog.

Interested bidders are required to pay a refundable deposit of Sh. 50,000 to obtain a bidding number for obsolete motor vehicles and Sh. 10,000 for assorted stores.
