Emmanuel Kirimi Kaimenyi, the Kilungu Boys High School Form One student who tragically passed away just eleven days after admission was not bullied as previously alleged.
According to the school’s board of management, an autopsy revealed Kirimi succumbed to an infection.
“The postmortem was done this afternoon at Chiromo Mortuary by the Government pathologist in the presence of all interested parties. The results indicated that it was a natural death caused by an infection.” Kennedy Malinda, the Chairperson of the Board of Management stated.
Kirimi fell ill on January 25 and was rushed to Kilungu Sub County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Previous allegations indicated that the boy had marks on his forehead, which were speculated to be a result of injuries from bullying.

The bullying speculations contradicted the school’s statement that the boy fell ill after complaining of stomach upsets.
Principal Geoffrey Muema said Kirimi complained of stomach upsets on that fateful day and they administered drugs but was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital after the pain persisted.
“Emmanuel Kirimi a Form One student got stomach upset at 10:30 am. He was rushed to the deputy principal’s office and then to the hospital located 800 metres from the school,” he said.
“He was accompanied by two teachers and two prefects where the doctor confirmed that he had died” he added.
