The Galleria Shopping Mall is located at the junction of Magadi and Langata Road in Nairobi. It houses several stores, including Carrefour, Bata, The Nairobi Hospital, Java, ArtCaffe and KFC, among others.
The mall, estimated to be worth Sh2 billion, has approximately 550 parking bays. It also features new developments, including The Galleria Gardens Business Center and its Residential Town Houses.
Despite its popularity, not many know the man behind the over Sh2 billion investment. According to media reports, The Galleria Mall is owned by Trevor Kanja, whose family runs Nairobi Homes, a real estate firm.
Trevor has been working as director of the Nairobi Homes Group since March 1991. He studied at Western University in Canada before joining his family in business.

He is the son of the late Jimmy Kanja and Norma Florienta Kanja, and the brother of Erika Kanja, wife of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s brother, Muhoho Kenyatta.
His mother Norma died on August 20, 2017, at a Nairobi hospital after a struggle with illness. The Kenyatta family took to social media to mourn her as a wonderful human being whose story should be copied by others.
“As we have all heard, she was a wonderful human being, and we can testify to that fact. Mama Norma Kana lived her life well and has left an enduring legacy that should be emulated. We stand in solidarity with you during this trying and difficult time of mourning,” Former president Uhuru Kenyatta stated.
