Billionaire Chris Kirubi is expected to pocket close Sh. 200 million from Centum Investments’ dividend payout.
This follows the decision by Centum to end an eight-year dividend drought by paying shareholders dividends amounting to Sh. 665 million. The dividends will see every shareholder take home Sh. 1 for every share held.
Currently, Mr. Chris Kirubi is the largest Centum shareholder with a stake of 29.9 per cent. From this stake, Chris Kirubi is expected to collect a total of Sh. 196 million in dividends from his investment in the firm.
Centum CEO James Mworia who holds a 0.61 per cent stake is also expected to take home a good amount in dividends. His dividends could go up to Sh. 3 million.
