The body of 58-year-old Campbell Scott, a British businessman who went missing on February 17 in Nairobi, has been found dumped in Makongo Forest.
Scott’s death was confirmed by Makueni County Commander Alice Kimeli on Monday, February 24,
His badly decomposed body was found stashed in a green sack by herders, with his hands and legs bound with a green nylon rope.
The body was taken to Makueni County Referral Hospital Morgue before being sent to Nairobi where he was positively identified.
Scott arrived in the country on Sunday, February 16, to attend a three-day business workshop and was last seen on February 17 while attending a conference at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi.
Efforts to trace him proved futile when his colleague with whom he travelled to Nairobi, unsuccessfully tried to reach him via mobile phone on Monday around 6 p.m.

The colleague who has not been identified reported the matter to the hotel which swiftly engaged police in the search.
CCTV footage captured Scott leaving the hotel where he was staying before he was traced walking into a bar in Westlands, where he had drinks with a friend.
At around 7.pm, the duo was spotted leaving the club and boarding a taxi to an unknown destination. Investigation by officers from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau led to the detention of a taxi driver and waiter who are assisting with investigations.
The taxi driver reportedly led investigators to a house in Pipeline Estate in Nairobi where Scott and the mystery friend were said to have been dropped off.
Detectives learned that unknown people held the businessman at the house in Pipeline before his lifeless body was found dumped in Makueni on Saturday at around 10. Am.
