Nairobi, 23rd November, 2016 – BURGER KING®, the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world has opened its first restaurant in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, located at The Hub Shopping Mall in Karen.

The restaurant will be independently owned and operated through a franchise agreement with NAS Airport Services Limited, a subsidiary of Servair, the third largest airline catering and logistics business globally and the category’s leader on the African continent.

“We are thrilled to introduce the BURGER KING® brand in Kenya and look forward to giving our guests the opportunity to experience the great-tasting, high-quality products that have delighted BURGER KING® guests for more than 60 years,” said Daniel Gonzalez, Head of Marketing, EMEA.

The first BURGER KING® restaurant has already created 40 new jobs for young Kenyans willing to grow and learn about the restaurant business.

The relationship between the BURGER KING® brand and Servair is an important growth driver for both businesses.

”Kenya is an exciting, active market with a vibrant economy,” said Arnaud Foubert, Franchise Development Manager. “We believe consumers in Kenya will embrace the BURGER KING® menu of flame-grilled offerings, including the WHOPPER® sandwich, the brand’s flagship product.”

Doors to the BURGER KING® restaurant at the Hub Shopping mall in Karen opened on Monday.
