A Kenyan preacher Rosalind Wanyeki alias Rev Hadassah is set to be deported from Canada this week unless she can find a new way to postpone her deportation.
The preacher who claims that her life is in danger in Kenya is set to be deported after her asylum claim was rejected and her application for permanent residency on humanitarian grounds was refused.
In an online petition, Rosalind claims that she and her two children who are aged 10 and 6 years old will be subjected to violence and human rights abuse if they are returned to Kenya.
“Joylene and Pearl came to Canada at very young ages. Canada is the only home they know. They have grown up in Canadian schools, formed friendships here, and adopted the Canadian way of life,” the petition claims.
“They have no connection to Kenya — culturally, socially, or emotionally — and removing them from Canada would not only traumatize them but expose them to significant danger and instability.”
Wanyeki who left Kenya in 2020 with her two daughters was reportedly booked for deportation on August 7, 2025. She told the media that she was scheduled to be removed from the country in early 2025. However, her deportation was postponed to allow her children to complete their school year.

Ms Wanyeki has however not clarified the basis for her asylum claim, and, or the reasons she was given for the rejection. She claims that she has established herself in Canada and founded a church that currently has a huge following.
“I wouldn’t have come all this way and then ask me to go back. It’s as good as saying, ‘if you want me to go back to Kenya, honestly, kill me here,'” she said.
