Cape Media, which owns TV47, and Radio47, has announced the appointment of Willis Raburu as Director of Digital Services and Innovations.
Announcing the appointment on Monday, Cape Media Director of Operations Mr. Wilson Mbugua said Raburu’s new roles at the station will include reporting to the CEO and driving the continuous evolution of TV47, Radio 47, and 47 Digital products.
“We are pleased to have Raburu on board. He will bring a valuable strategic skill set of performance and brand-building digital capabilities to the team,” stated Mr. Mbugua.
“Raburu will be tasked with developing a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for the design, development, and maintenance of brand 47 digital products and presence.” He added.

His primary objective will be enhancing the overall user experience of the company across all its digital platforms.
Raburu joined TV47 on August 27, 2023, nearly two months after exiting Royal Media Services (RMS) owned Citizen TV, where he had worked for 13 years.
“This week, I bid farewell to Royal Media Services, my home for 13 remarkable years. Thank you for the platform to break barriers, inspire change, and connect with all of you. Onward to new adventures,” he thanked RMS.
At TV47, he was tasked with hosting the Wabebe Experience entertainment show, which airs on Fridays at 10 pm.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Sciences from Moi University and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Communication Studies with a focus on Strategic Corporate Communications at USIU.
Throughout his journalism career, he has won multiple awards for some of the human interest stories he has done, including The Road Safety Award for “Killer Drivers’ Series, the Maji Awards for his series “Deadly Waters,” and The Children Rights Awards for a Rwanda series on the journey of resilient children.
