Some of the vehicles that were reported by the Kenya Revenue Authority as being under investigation for tax evasion have been spotted on Kenyan roads. This follows an advertisement that required 124 top of the range vehicles in the advert to be taken to KRA on Tuesday May 17 for inspection and verification.

However, a few hours after the advertisement in the local dailies came out, Kenyans started posting photos of some of the alleged vehicles on social media.

Earlier on Monday, officials from KRA visited numerous car yards within Nairobi contrasting documents of some of the vehicles on sale with their import documents.

The inspection comes in the wake of revelations that Kenya was becoming the deport of stolen top-of-the range vehicles from the United Kingdom. According to KRA, vehicles in the list may have evaded tax or gotten dumped in the KRA under the guise of being in transit to other regional markets.
