China has removed the requirement for visa appointments for Kenyans seeking to travel to China.
According to a statement from the Chinese embassy in Nairobi, effective November 20, 2023, Kenyans seeking a Chinese visa will need to submit their applications directly to the Visa application service centre in Nairobi.
“In order to further facilitate the exchange of China and Kenya, the Chinese Embassy in Kenya will completely cancel visa appointments from November 20, 2023,” the Chinese Embassy said in a statement.
These applications will need to be done during working hours. At the same time, the Chinese Embassy has advised Kenyan applicants to avoid peak hours when submitting the application to avoid overcrowding and submission delays.
Kenyan applicants will now be required to fill up the visa forms online through the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Nairobi website visaforchina.cn/NBO2_EN/.
After filling out the forms, applicants will be required to download and print the form and submit it with other materials at the time of application.
In the new submission system, applicants who have already completed their online appointments will be given the first priority.
