Popular media personality Ciku Muiruri has made a radio comeback. Ciku, who gained popularity through her hit program Busted announced her comeback through her social media channels.
“I’m back on RADIO this week!!! From Monday, 24th August, 2020. Can you guess which station I’ll be presenting on? First correct 20 answers get a FREE copy of my book (Love is But a Dream),” she announced.
The announcement came barely a week after she hit the headlines over a Sh. 5,000 per call counseling sessions that she has launched. The sessions are targeted at men.
Ciku Muiruri honed her radio skills at Capital FM, and EasyFM (now Nation FM) where she launched the Busted show. She moved with it to Classic 105 where it attracted as many fans as critics. She left Classic on 25th December 2013. “I want more than this. I need a bigger challenge. I want to OWN the train, not just ride on it,” she said days before leaving Radio Africa Group’s Classic 105.
On November 28, she had posted her decision to quit radi. She said:
“My dear, dear friends … I have been on this radio journey for an amazing 15 years. Capital FM, Kiss 100, Easyfm and now Classic 105. What a ride!!!! I’m so thankful for the laughs, the tears, the lessons, the amazing people I have spoken to and the amazing people I have met.
But alas, it is time to hang up my headphones and switch off my microphone. Hellen Keller said that
the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – They must be felt with the heart.
I will always love radio, my first love, but next year I will seek new adventures, new challenges, new experiences… I’m following my heart to the next chapter of my life.
