The Co-operative Bank of Kenya (Co-op Bank) has announced the sale of used cars through a public auction.
In a notice that appeared on the Daily Nation newspaper on Wednesday, October 29, Co-op Bank invited interested buyers to purchase the vehicles which include Toyota, Nissan, Isuzu and Mazda models.
According to the list, the cheapest model, a Volkswagen Golf, will be sold for Sh570,000 while the most expensive vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will go for Sh9.07 million.
Also in the list is a Nissan Note (Sh750,000), Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (Sh5.2 million), Mitsubishi Fuso (Sh2.32 million), Isuzu NMR 85 (Sh2.71 million), Faw tipper (Sh2.15 million), Toyota Vanguard (Sh1.37 million), and Isuzu FRR (Sh3.89 million).
Others are Mitsubishi Fuso (Sh2.57 million), Toyota Hiace (Sh1.85 million), Isuzu NQR 81U (Sh5.83 million), Toyota Harrier (Sh2.16 million), Isuzu NQR 81K (Sh6.1 million), Toyota Land cruiser Prado (Sh7.45 million), Mazda Demio (Sh1.17 million), and Isuzu FRR (Sh3.69 million).

Co-op Bank is also set to dispose of a Toyota Hilux for Sh730,000, BMW X5 (Sh4.74 million), Isuzu D-Max (Sh3.4 million), Isuzu D-Max (Sh3.6 million), and a Mazda CX-5 (Sh2.43 million).
The vehicles stationed in various yards in Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Meru will be sold on an ‘as-is, where-is’ basis. Interested bidders must pay a non-refundable bid fee of Sh3,000 by Wednesday, November 12.
“Bidding will be done online only through the Co-op Bank vehicle portal. Viewing of the motor vehicles will be done at the specified storage yards before placing a bid,” the notice reads.
Co-op Bank clarified that multiple bids on the same vehicle will not be allowed. Successful bidders will be required to pay the bid amount in a lump sum within 24 hours after receipt of the offer letter. Any offer received after the bid closing date, will not be considered.
