Commonwealth announces vacant jobs for youth with Sh. 290,000 monthly pay

The Commonwealth Secretariat has announced several vacant jobs for youth. Based in the UK in London, the Commonwealth Secretariat takes pride in supporting youth empowerment through various programs such as the Young Professionals Program (YPP).

YPP is responsible for offering several avenues for the youth to channel their skills while contributing to Commonwealth’s core work. These are the vacant jobs for youth that they can apply for;

  1. Assistant Program Officer (Stakeholder Engagement)
  2. Assistant Program Officer (Monitoring and Evaluation)
  3. Assistant Program Officer (Software Development)
  4. Assistant Research Officer (Climate Change)
  5. Assistant Research Officer (Office of the Secretary-General)
  6. Assistant Health Officer
  7. Assistant Research Officer (International Trade Policy)
  8. Assistant Program Officer (Governance and Peace Directorate)

These openings are a two-year fixed-term contract and individual applications will need to be made for each of the positions.

Co-Op post

The annual salary once an applicant has successfully passed the interview will be Sh. 3,500,000. Monthly pay will be at Sh. 290,000.

Application requirements

You must be a citizen of a Commonwealth country. You must be aged 27 years and below by the time the application deadline closes.

You will be required to produce evidence of educational and professional background to support your application. This means that in order to have a chance to be shortlisted, you will need to have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject area or have a minimum of 1-year work experience in any of the mentioned fields.

All applicants are required to add 3 references to their Curriculum Vitae, one of whom is your current or most recent employer. The other should be your former employer. Both employers should attest to your work ethic, professional abilities and personal character. By no means should any of your referees be related to you.
