The construction of Sh. 5.5 billion cable cars system in Lioni is set to start soon.
This has been revealed by Transport and Infrastructure CS James Macharia.
The CS said the ministry would soon ink deals with contractors as it eyes a project groundbreaking date between late October and early November this year.
“We are at very advanced stage of the project and we hope to launch it in three months’ time,” he told journalists at the Mombasa port Thursday after a meeting with the team concerned with the transportation of maize to millers across the country.
The construction will take 18 months.
