Thieves walk away with Sh. 1.1 million from CS Jumwa's Loresho home

On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, a robbery incident occurred at the Loresho home of the Public Service Cabinet Secretary, Aisha Jumwa.

According to reports, a gang of three men armed with crude weapons cut the electric perimeter wall to gain entry to the compound before making their way to the main house through an unlocked back door.

Once inside CS Jumwa’s home, they ransacked the master bedroom upstairs and stole gold jewellery and two laptops.

The robbers then proceeded to the bedroom where Jumwa’s two daughters were sleeping and robbed them of Sh1.1 million, three mobile phones, and jewellery of unknown value.

One of the daughters sustained minor injuries during the incident.

The attackers spent almost three hours in the house before leaving at around 5 am on Wednesday.

The victims reported the incident to the police, who are now investigating the case. The guards who were on duty at the time of the incident are missing, leading police to believe they could be part of the gang behind the attack on the house.

Jumwa was away on official duty at the time of the robbery.

The affected house is situated on a compound that has similar structures, which are still under construction. Police who visited the scene said they had not been informed that the CS was residing in the house.
