The company is owned by Vincent Masawi, a Kenyan entrepreneur with interest in veterinary and public matters.
Masawi started the company in 2004 after serving in various industries. A look at his career profile reveals his career odyssey started at Mwakitawa Secondary School in Voi, where he was employed as a mathematics and science teacher.
He later moved to pursue his passion in veterinary services and landed a role as a veterinarian at Anicare Ltd, Nairobi where his main responsibility was selling of livestock and pet products as well as advising customers.
Masawi rose through the ranks to lead some of the leading companies in Kenya including the Unga Farm Care (EA) Ltd, a subsidiary of Unga Group.

Other companies he has worked with include Mospa Ltd & Makongi Farm Eldoret, Tetra Pak (EA) Ltd, and the Dairy Systems & Services Ltd, among others.
Masawi also served at the County Government of Taita Taveta as County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Livestock and Fisheries between 2013 and 2014 and as County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Finance & Economic Planning between 2014 and 2019.
His exit from the Taita Taveta County in 2019 saw him return to DSS where he has been serving as the Chief Executive Officer.
Started in November 2004, DSS serves as the sole agent in East Africa for DeLaval, a member of the internationally renowned dairy systems & packaging conglomerate, the Tetra Pak (Tetra Laval) Group of Lund, Sweden, following its appointment in 2005.
In 2010, the company was further appointed an DeLaval authorised distributor for sanitary equipment in Kenya.
Masawi holds a Masters in Business Administration specializing in International Business/ Trade from University of Nairobi.
The Alliance High School alumnus is also a holder of a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine.
