“The cargo one is for business, the jet one is going to be for personal use, and the other one we are going to support Baba (Raila) in his campaigns, we are going to donate one to ODM,” the businessman noted.

KAA had announced an auction to offload planes that had been abandoned at different airports across the country. The planes were abandoned at JKIA, Wilson Airport, Moi International Airport, and Lokichogio Airport.

According to KAA, some planes were put on auction after the owners failed to clear outstanding bills including the parking fees while others had been declared unairworthy.

The 72 unairworthy planes were sold at throw-away prices with the lowest going for 700 US dollars, which was estimated to be worth Ksh70,000 then.

Some of the planes were owned by government agencies including Kenya Police, Moi University, and Somalia Airforce while others were private planes.
